‘Food On The Edge has been a catalyst for many ideas, and this is exactly where the first seed was planted for a fundraising event at Isabelo’, said Margot Janse, founder of Isabelo, Feeding Hungry Minds. Irish chef JP McMahon will be cooking with 24 leading international chefs in Brussels, Belgium in aid of Isabelo, Feeding Hungry Minds, a South-African project created by chef Margot Janse.
The unique event will see three charity dinners taking place simultaneously across the city on the 16th of February at 8pm, with the chefs divided across top Brussels restaurants, Bon Bon, Bozar and Le Chalet de La Foret. Each team of chefs will serve a specially-created 10-course menu which will include a specific indigenous South-African ingredient.
JP McMahon said, “I am delighted to be taking part in this event. It is not only a privilege to cook alongside chefs I admire so much, but also to be raising money for the fantastic work that Margot is doing in South Africa”.
All proceeds from the night will go to Isabelo, Feeding Hungry Minds, a charity created by chef Margot Janse, which has been serving nutritious meals to 1,500 South African children each school day since 2009.
Margot Janse said, “JP invited me to talk about my Isabelo charity at Food On The Edge in 2017. Food On The Edge has been a catalyst for many ideas, and this is exactly where the first seed was planted for this fundraising event for Isabelo. Now it is a reality and I am over the moon that JP has agreed to be a part of it”.
