Greenes Restaurant was named the Best Cork Restaurant at the Cork Business of the Year Awards 2018, which took place at a gala event held in the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs on Saturday the 23rd of February.
The Cork Business of the Year Awards recognise the outstanding contribution of businesses across various sectors in Cork city, and celebrate their commitment to best practice, excellence and high standards.
Greenes, together with boutique cocktail and food venue Cask and country house-style Hotel Isaacs, are part of a family of connected venues with beautiful period architecture adjoining one another on MacCurtain Street in the Victorian Quarter of Cork city.

Executive head chef Bryan McCarthy designs the local-ingredient menus at Greenes which honours the outstanding local, in-season and organic produce available in Cork. Dishes are sophisticated, refined and beautifully presented, while innovative preservation and fermentation techniques allow Bryan and his team of chefs to work with local ingredients all year round. An extensive wine list is carefully chosen by Greenes manager and sommelier Frank Schiltkamp.
Speaking about the win, Bryan said, “We are absolutely thrilled with this award. Thanks to all our team who continually strive to push the boundaries at Greenes, and of course a huge thank you to our local suppliers for their incredible produce which make it all possible.”
The Best Cork Restaurant is the latest distinction for Greenes which has been listed in the McKenna’s Guides’ 100 Best Restaurants in Ireland in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
