A very special dinner and wine event with all proceeds going to Galway Hospice is taking place at Dock 1 Seafood Bar & Restaurant on Thursday the 14th of September.
The seven-course, Autumn Taster-inspired menu is a showcase of the best local ingredients from the land and sea, beginning with Native Oysters, West Coast Monkfish and Crab & Lobster Bisque, followed by Native Scallop & Irish Black Pudding as well as Wild Irish Venison dishes, and finishing with a seasonal Spiced Plum Sticky Toffee Pudding and Irish Cheeseboard. The menu is created by multi-award-winning head chef Brian McMonagle, who joined Dock 1 this summer, with Irish ingredients and local food producers featuring extensively.
Dante Cecchini (pictured) from Castello Banfi winery is travelling from Tuscany, Italy, to host the dinner, which will be accompanied by matching wines from this award-winning winery, including its classic Brunello di Montalcino, a 100% sangiovese.
Aoife Buckley of Dock 1 Seafood Bar & Restaurant said, “We are honoured to be hosting this charity event for the Galway Hospice, which continues to do fantastic work within our community. It’s a charity which is close to many of us. There has been a tremendous response to date and it’s set to be a fantastic evening.”
Dock 1 producers supporting the charity dinner are Febvre Wines, Castello Banfi, Mary’s Fish, Dooncastle Oysters and Total Produce.
The cost is 70 euro per person, with all proceeds from the dinner going directly to Galway Hospice.
