The Kitchen Café in Galway City is kicking off the festive season by inviting the local kids to get their hands dirty as they decorate the windows of the café for Christmas.
The window-painting event will take place on Sunday the 1st of December at 4:00pm to 5:00pm. There will be Christmas carols to get everyone in the festive spirit, and each little helper will be rewarded for their hard work with hot chocolate and gingerbread cookies.
Everyone will be involved in the artistic collaboration which will feature a winter scene of snowmen, snowflakes and a big Christmas tree made from the little elves’ handprints. The artwork will remain on the front of the building to be admired throughout the Christmas season.
Michelle Crehan-Kavanagh, owner of The Kitchen, said, “We’re inviting all of the little elves of Galway to come along and make their mark on our café this Christmas. Because of our location at the Galway City Museum, it’s important to us that the local community sees The Kitchen as a welcoming space and we are really looking forward to getting the kids involved in decorating the front of this public building. It’s going to be a great afternoon with lots of Christmas music, seasonal treats and a bit of messiness which is all part of the fun!”.
The event is taking place from 4:00pm until 5:00pm on Sunday the 1st of December. The event is free of charge and all are welcome – even grown-ups if they’re good!
The Kitchen Café is located at the Galway City Museum, Spanish Parade, Galway.
