Sodalicious Castletroy is the second outlet for owner, Jane Conlon, who opened the first on Cecil Street in Limerick City in 2018. The café and bakery focuses on celebrating soda bread and innovating how we champion this Irish staple.
Jane Conlon, chief baker and owner of Sodalicious said, “We are very excited about this new chapter in the Sodalicious story, and bringing our no-nonsense menu to the Castletroy neighbourhood.”
Jane and her team will be serving her award-winning soda bread in the Castletroy café which includes the Cheddar and Chive bread, which won silver in the Blas na hÉireann 2022 awards, the Rosemary and Olive Oil bread won gold in the 2021 Irish Quality Food Awards and won bronze in the Blas na hÉireann 2022.
Jane said, “We don’t use artificial additives or yeast in our bread, and while soda bread is traditional, we like to add a contemporary twist by adding fresh herbs and flavours. As an Irish business, we are very conscious of food provenance and ensure, where possible, we source everything from a local level.”
The new location will continue to serve the Sodalicious favourites- a selection of grilled sandwiches, homemade soups, deli meat and smoked salmon platters. The all-day breakfast menu includes slow-cooked porridge, Jockeys Breakfast and some vegetarian options too. All cakes and sweet treats are homemade, while coffee is supplied by Eleven14 coffee roasters in Limerick.
The new Sodalicious branch is located in Park Point on the Dublin Road in Castletroy. The opening hours are Monday to Sunday from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.
