Iconic Galway bands come together for one night only in aid of Galway Hospice.
Galway’s top bands Tightrope, Pyramid, KIF, FYC, and The Converse Allstars will share the stage at The Kings Head in aid of Galway Hospice on Friday the 21st of February.
Allen Feeney of Tightrope is the organiser of the annual event. Allen said, “All five bands are great friends and the idea came about from us wanting to both collaborate and give something back to the local community. It’s a really unique night with so many Galway musicians playing on stage together. It’s always great craic and a real celebration of Galway’s brilliant music scene. The Galway Hospice is a cause close to so many people’s hearts – including some of the musicians involved – so to be able to give our support for such an important charity means a lot to us all.”
Admission to the gig is free but there will be ample opportunity to support Galway Hospice on the night, including a raffle for five fantastic spot prizes.
Paul Grealish, owner of The Kings Head said, “This is the third year we’ve hosted Galway Rocks for Hospice and it’s always such a brilliant gig – I can’t wait to do it all over again. All credit to Allen Feeney and the amazing bands who are giving up their time to support Galway Hospice. We’re delighted to be involved in this fantastic event for such a worthy cause”.
Galway Hospice is the main provider of palliative care in Galway, aiming to improve the quality of life for each patient, allowing them to live each day to the full. They rely on the continued support of the people of Galway and fundraising events like this to keep the service running.
The gig kicks off at 9pm and will run until the early hours. All welcome.
