Instead of socks on June 16th, treat your dad to a culinary experience he won’t forget – learning techniques and tips from inside a professional kitchen.
The interactive and immersive Glovers Alley Kitchen Experience makes a perfect gift for a food-lover this Father’s Day. Whether he is a budding or a serious cook, he will be welcomed by Andy McFadden and his team into the restaurant kitchen where participants will don an apron and learn top techniques, with lots of opportunities for tastings, followed by a four-course lunch with champagne and wine pairings, and a goodie bag to take home.
Andy said, “Whether your dad is a seasoned cook or a culinary beginner, this is an amazing opportunity to experience the excitement and heat of the kitchen first hand. The Kitchen Experience is a real interactive experience teaching you a few new tricks, showing you behind the scenes and gives you a real insight into the creativity in the kitchen.”
The Kitchen Experience will begin at 10am with a talk by Andy. He will then bring the participants into the kitchen where they will make a batch of signature Glovers Alley bread to take home. Next, they will get to watch Andy and his team of chefs in action as they demonstrate the intricate skills and techniques they apply to butchering meat, preparing fish and creating refined desserts. The participants will also get to assist the professional kitchen team as they prepare for that day’s lunch and dinner service. Throughout the morning Andy and the team will prepare various dishes for participants to taste.
At 12:30pm, participants will swap the kitchen for the Glovers Alley dining room, where they will sip a glass of champagne before enjoying a specially created four-course lunch menu with paired wines prepared by Andy and his team.
To finish, participants will receive a Glovers Alley goodie bag to take home.
The Kitchen Experience has proved very popular since its launch last year, with one reviewer writing, “I really enjoyed the Kitchen Experience and lunch. They got the right atmosphere between friendliness and attention to detail. The food was really delicious, especially the grouse. All in all, a wonderful day.”
The Kitchen Experience takes place at 10am on the first Friday of every month, it’s limited to four people per session and costs €145 per person, with the option to bring a guest for the lunch part for €90.
