Chi Bistro located on Middle Street in Galway, highly regarded for authentic Asian cuisine is launching Chi Chats a series of informal gatherings hosted by Chi and presented by experts in various areas of food and health. The talks are open to the public and aimed at people interested in learning about Eastern approaches to health and wellbeing and how these can be incorporated into Western thinking and way of living.
Each Chi Chat will feature a different guest speaker and will be launched on the 21st February by James O’Sullivan an Acupuncture Practitioner and Lecturer of Integrated Medicine. James is also a director of Acupuncture Council of Ireland. James will talk about the benefits of Acupuncture and how Asian foods plays a role in maintaining health.
The launch month, February will see two Chi Chats which coincide with The Chinese New Year celebrations. The second on Sunday 22nd from 3pm to 4.30pm will be an organic wine and spice matching with Asian tapas presented by Dirik Flake of Organic Wine, a cover charge of €10 per head will apply for this event.
Future upcoming Chi Chats include Cait Curran who will speak on 28th February. Cait grows her food according to biodynamic principles and incorporates a holistic understanding of the agricultural processes. Jorg Muller of Solaris Tea is also an upcoming speaker. From March onwards Chi Chats will run on the last Saturday of each month, 3pm-4pm Entry for most events is €5 and covers afternoon tea.
